Baxter Transport History

Kelvin Baxter Transport is a family owned and operated business, located in the Southern Riverina town of Berrigan NSW.

Kelvin Baxter the founder of Baxter's Transport and his family have been involved in the farming and grain transportation industry for many years. Kel started as a farmer himself, purchasing a couple of trucks to deliver the farms produce. He later identified an opportunity to provide transport services for other businesses in the Riverina, Murray and Murrumbidgee irrigation areas of New South Wales.

Kelvin Baxter Transport is like no other, being founded upon extensive industry experience from the paddock and people dealing with local storage and handling/receiving centers to those operating the ports and feed mills throughout the eastern States of Australia.

Kelvin Baxter Transport was founded in 1990, with two second-hand Kenworth trucks. The business continued to grow on the back of the company's exemplary customer service. Business growth presented Kel with the opportunity to buy more second hand trucks that served the company well until the first addition of a new truck in 1997.

Kel continues to seek out and employ drivers who share his passion for customer service, priding himself on the fact that knows every individual who works for Kelvin Baxter Transport personally.

Today, the company’s fleet consists of fifty four Prime Movers and trailer combinations to configure to B-Doubles, Road Trains, B Triple, AB Triples and PBS Road Trains. We have the capacity to move freight with HPFV combinations, working from upcountry into all East Coast ports.

“We deliver grain all over – everywhere from Geelong, Victoria to Condamine, Queensland.

We deliver in the most freight efficient and effective manner possible."
